Selena Gomez Openly Discusses Internet Hatred After “Hard” Justin Bieber Split

Selena Gomez spoke up about the “specific and mean” texts she experienced after splitting from Justin Bieber in 2018. Selena Gomez took a break from social media to be good to herself.

After her 2018 separation from an on-again, off-again romance with Justin Bieber, the Only Murders in the Building actress reflected on handing over her social media credentials to her assistant, describing how the online vitriol surrounding the breakup affected her mental health.

In an interview with Vanity Fair that was released on February 15, Selena stated, “I went through a bad period in a breakup and I didn’t want to read any of the [feedback]—not necessarily about the relationship, but the thoughts of myself against [someone] else.” There would be a ton of very great comments, but I automatically think about the negative ones.

When Selena and Justin split up, the “Peaches” singer proposed to Hailey Bieber, who is now his wife. Selena, 30, was burdened by the fallout from their connection since she had grown up being “inundated with information that I didn’t want.”

“I don’t care whether others think I’m stupid or unattractive. But these individuals go into depth, “She went on. “They create incredibly precise and scathing pieces. I would be sobbing nonstop. I was anxious all the time… I was unable to continue. My time was wasted on it.”

The singer has “built a structure” where she can participate with social media on her own terms after leaving Instagram in January and letting her crew run the account.

And there is one app in particular that she frequently uses.

Because I find TikTok to be a little less harsh, that is the only app I have on my phone, she claimed. “Social media has many positive aspects, including the opportunity to interact with people and learn about their lives. But typically [for me today], that is filtered through. I email my assistant all of my actions, and she uploads them. My team will compile a few remarks that are encouraging in terms of feedback.”

The model defended Hailey in September in response to claims that she had “taken” Justin from Selena, with whom she appeared for a picture in October.

On the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey stated, “Of course, there’s a very lengthy history there and it’s not my connection.” “I’m not involved with it at all. I greatly appreciate that, but I also realize that it was the end of a chapter, and I believe that moving on, getting engaged, getting married, and generally moving on with his life in that way was the greatest thing that could have occurred for him.”
